The Bactrian camel and the Dromedary are the only two species in the world. While the common Dromedary has been used extensively for the service of mankind, the Bactrian is rare with few numbers left in the wild. It is more suited to colder climates than it’s counterpart, having thick and long fur that protects it from extreme conditions as low as -40°c.
Although not an attractive animal, I enjoy drawing and painting those with grotesque features as an alternative to conventional, artistic standards.
