Artwork Description

Drawing on paper

Signed on the front.

Richmond legend, Jack Dyer, is seen here leading his team onto the ground in enemy territory at Fitzroy.

My works are produced by building up my drawing with many layers of coloured pencil - mixing and blending as I go until a rich full colour image has been achieved.

I create my football history artworks to breathe life into the black & white record of the past and provide the contemporary viewer with an opportunity to witness the moment as it would have appeared to those who were there.

A coloured rendering depicting the players from the 1888 St. Kilda team on the steps of the Junction Oval Club House.Breathing life into the black and white history of Australian rules football with my full colour hand drawn depictions of the game's early years. Collingwood's first VFL premiership captain stands proud on the club's home ground - Victoria Park. Carlton and Fitzroy do battle in front of a capacity crowd at the MCG in the 1904 VFL Grand Final. My full colour artwork presents the scene just as it would have appeared to those who were there.
