Artwork Description

The Diver Café sits on the intersection of Arden and Carr Streets at Coogee Beach. I like the urban feel of the image, as well as the strong contrasts created by the morning sun. The symmetry of the urban landscape works nicely with the unruly trees in the park across the road. It’s also a great place to drink coffee with a mate after a morning swim.

Artist Bio

I'm an artist living in the beachside suburb of Coogee in Sydney.
My current obsession is relief printing using lino, vinyl and rubber flooring offcuts. Limited edition images are printed using high-quality inks and paper, highlighting the contrasts within the compositions and the textures of the materials used. The subject matter for this series of works is mainly drawn from my favourite views and landscapes, both wild and urban. I love where I live, and spend most of my spare time at the beach - either walking between Bondi and La Perouse, or swimming in the ocean around Coogee and Gordon's Bay. When I'm not at the seaside, I like to be in the mountains, camping, walking, skiing or swimming in the lakes and rivers.
