Artwork Description

While the Bondi Pavilion and the old chimney at Ben Buckler give away this scene’s location, it’s the pandanus trees in the foreground that make it worth looking at. I love the contrasts in this picture between the dark ocean and the bright morning sun on the trees and the beach.

Artist Bio

I'm an artist living in the beachside suburb of Coogee in Sydney.
My current obsession is relief printing using lino, vinyl and rubber flooring offcuts. Limited edition images are printed using high-quality inks and paper, highlighting the contrasts within the compositions and the textures of the materials used. The subject matter for this series of works is mainly drawn from my favourite views and landscapes, both wild and urban. I love where I live, and spend most of my spare time at the beach - either walking between Bondi and La Perouse, or swimming in the ocean around Coogee and Gordon's Bay. When I'm not at the seaside, I like to be in the mountains, camping, walking, skiing or swimming in the lakes and rivers.
