Where does an artist’s inspiration begin? -- and where might it go?.
In my case it begins with growing up in a sea-side suburb on the West Coast, and being struck by the vast beauty of the expanse of sun-bright golden sand, the vivid blue sky, and the vibrant sunset clouds over the ocean.

My works are generally representational, with a focus on reflecting the constant beauty and interest of the empirical world – though, to employ a musical analogy, with the occasional foray into the darker and lower notes.

I see my work as a type of dance: a waltz involving line, tone and colour. Perhaps my oeuvre will evolve into a tango too?

I am especially excited by the works of Van Gogh and Dufy, and the school of the Fauves.
