Beauty and the beast (French: La Belle et la Bête) was written in 1740 by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve (Hebrew: messenger of god). At its core it is a story of a young woman whom is to have an arranged marriage. The retelling of the story by Disney applies a more genteel presumption to the more aggressive archetypal subtext of the Beast character.
In this scene the Beast in acceptance of his love for Belle shares his darkened clouded but affluent world with the Beauty whom he seeks to charm. Belle is surprised according to her inquisitive, intellectual and curious character. A library. It is from this point that the two characters true love story bears union, whereupon Belle accepts the perfect imperfections of the beast, and the Beast acknowledges the true essence of Belle's character.
It is through the following acts that the archetype comes to full bloom, that a woman loves tames the man; the beauty tames the beast.
