Artwork Description

Painted from a photograph taken by the artist. The spectacular sunsets over the Indian Ocean in Western Australia provide me with endless inspiration for photography and subsequent paintings. This image from a photograph taken at Port Beach, Fremantle depicts families enjoying the last of the sun, swimming and paddling in the shallows, the water still warm from the heat of the day.
Painted with high-quality acrylic paint on stretched canvas fitted with metal D rings and high-quality nylon cord for hanging.

Artist Bio

David Lloyd Keigwin, Age 57. I have lived in Australia for 20 years, having settled in Perth WA with my Australian family. I originally trained as a graphic artist and have spent the majority of my career designing and illustrating books.
I rediscovered my love of painting in the last few years and recently discovered that acrylics suit my style and interest, allowing me to develop quick, loose and free painting techniques that allow me to echo nature's energy in my paintings.
I recently joined an art group in WA that runs exhibitions that I have been able to enter and this has given me the confidence to seek out more local and national open exhibitions.
I mainly paint landscapes, inspired by the natural beauty of where I live, especially the beautiful Swan River and its surroundings.
