Mellow Yellow

This is an abstract piece that juxtaposes a yellow / green colour scheme. Incorporated into that scheme is a smaller amount of purple and pink that acts to break up the main colour masses. As with any of my abstract paintings I am looking for a visually pleasing composition that makes use of a strong focal point.

David Lake is a painter of the Australian landscape in a representational style. His art practice began more than forty years ago and since 2002 he has been painting on a full time basis.

Several solo exhibitions over a ten year period up until 2010. Regularly enters art competitions across NSW, including the Sydney Metro area. Has collected more than 100 first prizes and over $100,000 in prize money which is a testament to his skill as an artist.

David is a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW . His paintings are held in Australia in both private and municipal collections and private collections overseas, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan and the USA.
