David began his artistic journey on the streets and railway lines of north Brisbane in the late 80’s. It was here that he mastered the use of spray cans.
David has always loved drawing and continued this love through high school. It was in these years that he discovered hip hop culture, through music and the graffiti art scene. He knew from the first piece he saw riding the train to school, that this was something he needed to learn. And over the next couple of years this is exactly what he did. David received numerous commissions and his work was represented on legal walls all over Brisbane. He went on to work as an airbrush artist, painting amusement rides through till 1997.
Fast forward 20 years, and a combination of covid lockdowns and inspiration from other local street artists, drove David to re-hone the skills he hadn’t really used for a couple of decades. Recently David has been exploring themes of Australian natives and how our culture exists within this land and our region.
