Whatever you choose to call it, it’s big, it’s red and it’s iconic. I think most artists in Australia think about painting Uluru at some point (maybe I’m wrong about that?). I wanted to capture the feel of the area and the sheer size of the massive chunk of redness just jutting out from the ground. Friend’s had visited there showing me all there photos which inspired me to put brush to canvas. It’s on my ‘places to visit’ list; I’m just not sure it’s on my wife’s! At least I’ve painted it!
