This piece was influenced (like most Australian’s) by some of my earliest memories of the big, bad man himself NED KELLY an average guy who didn’t take any crap from no one.
Was Ned a hero or not? Depends on your perspective but one thing is for sure he was and always will be a symbol of strength, determination and controversy.
That's why his image and story have been a favourite subject matter by some of the very finest Australian artists that ever lived, imagine if you had brought early Sidney Nolan version of NED.

The man wore cool armour making him look like a Dark Knight, I can only imagine the apprehension (the other side) must have felt when he first stepped out guns in both hands, blazing ways and when the bullets started to fly towards him, they bounced off…wow, that's intense.
The RED NED symbolises the fire that burns at the centre of Ned’s existence and the passion that radiates from his convictions that boiled into such vibrancy that literally history was born from his actions.
