Artwork Description

Living by the ocean and living a life that’s involved surfing, fishing and just lazing on the beach a love of the ocean is only natural.
I’ve loved painting waves for most of my life and have painted waves on canvas, surfboards, cars, on walls inside and out and on more things that I can remember.
This painting was inspired by the weather of the day I painted it.
Grey skies and raining, the mood was set.
Stormy Grey.

Artist Bio

David Anton Vretchkoff is a full-time artist living on the Central Coast of New South Wales, where the stunning beaches and dynamic ocean landscapes provide endless inspiration for his seascapes.
Specialising in capturing the essence of both local and iconic Australian coastlines, David’s paintings reflect his deep connection to the natural beauty around him.

For David, the beach is both studio and muse. With the ocean as his constant companion, his work is a reflection of the rhythms, textures, and shifting light of the coastal environment. Through each brushstroke, he seeks to evoke a sense of calm and contemplation, inviting viewers to experience the timeless beauty of Australia’s shores.

His art is more than just a visual experience—it’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and connect with the serenity of the ocean. By sharing this personal journey, David hopes to inspire others to appreciate the quiet power and profound beauty of the sea
