Artwork Description

Inspired by the striking coastal formations of Toowoon Bay, this expressive aerial seascape captures the meeting point of land, tide, and movement.
Sweeping turquoise currents weave through dark volcanic rock shelves, while soft sands create a natural pathway through the composition.

Layered textures and energetic brushwork evoke the ever-changing rhythm of the ocean, balancing moments of calm with the raw power of the sea. Viewed from above, the coastline becomes almost abstract transforming familiar shoreline patterns into a dynamic interplay of colour, form, and motion.

Tidal Passage Toowoon Bay invites collectors to experience the coastline from a fresh perspective, celebrating the beauty, energy, and timeless flow of Australia’s coastal landscape.

Artist Bio

David Anton Vretchkoff is a full-time artist living on the Central Coast of New South Wales, where the stunning beaches and dynamic ocean landscapes provide endless inspiration for his seascapes.
Specialising in capturing the essence of both local and iconic Australian coastlines, David’s paintings reflect his deep connection to the natural beauty around him.

For David, the beach is both studio and muse. With the ocean as his constant companion, his work is a reflection of the rhythms, textures, and shifting light of the coastal environment. Through each brushstroke, he seeks to evoke a sense of calm and contemplation, inviting viewers to experience the timeless beauty of Australia’s shores.

His art is more than just a visual experience—it’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and connect with the serenity of the ocean. By sharing this personal journey, David hopes to inspire others to appreciate the quiet power and profound beauty of the sea
