The title "Valescere" is a Latin term signifying the process of growing strong, recovering health, and becoming powerful. It just seemed right for this drawing
Making time to draw or paint isn't something I used to have the patience or care to do but in the last few years I've succumbed to its calming beauty and found a part of me I wish I had unlocked many years sooner. The sensuality and eroticism that the lines a female body creates in art can captivate and hold everyone ,regardless of gender, and I usually find that's what I'm drawing whether from a memory or a picture I've seen and enjoyed. Charcoal is the medium I use most as I find it quite forgiving and it's ability to easily add depth or a unique perspective to my drawings continually astounds me everytime.
