Artwork Description

The surface of this painting is heavily textured, built up of multiple layers, with lumps and drips. The sides of the canvas are also painted, and the painting is sealed beneath a glossy varnish.
In this abstract expressionist painting, I wanted to create an energetic tangle of lines over a swirling, cloud-like field. The densely layered and interwoven lines and splatters applied in a chaotic yet deliberate manner, are inspired by the techniques of mid-20th-century Abstract Expressionists. Rather than dictating a specific meaning, I encourage personal interpretation, allowing each viewer’s response to be entirely their own.
This artwork will never become a print and will remain a 'one of a kind' piece.

NOTE: This artwork can be hung without an external frame (edges are 4cm thick and painted and varnished). In situ photographs that might include a frame are for illustrative purposes only. Should you wish to frame the artwork, Bluethumb offer a variety of excellent options. In situ photographs provide an indication of the painting's size and are as accurate as possible. Please take note of the painting's actual measurements and size in relation to your wall.

BIO: My ideas and how I apply them to the canvases are seldom subtle and my intention is for the artworks to be striking and distinctive. I like to explore emotion and expression through colour and shape. I often use bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical, political, and in the tradition of modern and humanist art. As I develop my paintings, I focus on an idea, an effect, and a mood. I enjoy painting in different styles and my works range from abstract to abstract figurative, abstract expressionism to pop art, in addition to impressionist works.
