In this contemporary landscape, I aimed to convey a sense of quiet, with the trees emerging through a soft misty, atmospheric blue ground. The upper canopy is built through layered, gestural marks, creating movement and colour that contrasts with the stillness below.
The surface is coated in resin, giving it a glass-like finish that enhances depth and light across the work. It is framed in pine, hand-painted in Indian Red in a rustic style, providing a warm contrast to the cooler tones of the painting.

My paintings are often expressed as simple and balanced compositions. I love using bold blocks of colour and outlines to anchor my designs that (I hope) are sometimes spiritual, fantastical and in the tradition of modern and humanist art.
