Artwork Description

I’m Sure There’s a Silver Lining is a quiet reflection on the push and pull of doubt and hope. Built up through layered texture and shifting tones, this piece explores contrast—between shadow and light, uncertainty and resolve. The depth of colour mirrors the way emotions evolve, how clarity emerges through complexity.

This painting is on a stretched canvas with the edges painted a complementary colour for a sleek, contemporary finish. It can be hung without an external frame, however professional framing in a floating frame is also available as an option when adding to cart. Images of the painting framed may be included to help collectors visualise what the painting will look like framed.
The painting is initialed on the front, signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Dayarne Smith is an Australian abstract artist who paints with instinct, energy, and a deep love of colour. Based in Muswellbrook, in the NSW Upper Hunter, she works from her home studio, surrounded by the ever-changing rural landscape. Her paintings are bold, layered, and expressive—imagined places that feel familiar but can’t be pinned down.

She works primarily with acrylic and mixed media, letting each painting take shape as she goes. There’s no strict plan, just a process of layering colour, texture, and movement until the work finds its own rhythm. It’s less about capturing a scene and more about translating a feeling—resilience, discovery, the tension between chaos and calm.

Whether drawing from the rugged coastline, her own backyard, or fleeting moments of light and hope, Dayarne’s paintings are personal but open-ended, inviting viewers to find their own connection. At the heart of it all is colour—bold, intuitive, and full of life.
