Overland is a layered, expressive exploration of shifting ground and distant horizons. Earthy tones of ochre, rust, and teal collide and settle like a map in motion—part dreamscape, part aerial view.

Dayarne Smith is an Australian abstract artist who paints with instinct, energy, and a deep love of colour. Based in Muswellbrook, in the NSW Upper Hunter, she works from her home studio, surrounded by the ever-changing rural landscape. Her paintings are bold, layered, and expressive—imagined places that feel familiar but can’t be pinned down.

She works primarily with acrylic and mixed media, letting each painting take shape as she goes. There’s no strict plan, just a process of layering colour, texture, and movement until the work finds its own rhythm. It’s less about capturing a scene and more about translating a feeling—resilience, discovery, the tension between chaos and calm.
