Kate

A bit of experimentation with a new style. One thing I wanted to achieve was to get a bit ‘looser’ with some of my artwork, to combine photorealism with something a bit more abstract. The photo I used as a reference is a Mert and Marcus photo of Kate Moss.

This piece was shown at Hazelhurst Gallery as part of the Hazelhurst 20|20 exhibition.

This original piece is hand-drawn by artist Dean Spinks in his unique photorealistic style using Copic markers on A3 Strathmore Bristol paper.

Obsessed with the symmetry and expression of the human face, Dean works almost exclusively in portraits. Using black ink markers, his unique crosshatching style allows for high contrast and great detail, creating dramatic, impactful works of art.
