You might know of the original sin… And you might know how to play with fire… But did you know of the murder committed… In the name of love you thought what a pity.” One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite bands – INXS, and one I listened to countless times while creating this piece.

I wanted to create a vibrant, emotive piece with this artwork. As a realism artist, I take inspiration from photography techniques and try to recreate them in my artwork. Soft gel lighting is bright and beautiful, and I have been very much inspired by it lately. This piece was drawn with Copic coloured inks as a base layer, then gradually crosshatched on top to create a smooth, realistic tone.

This original drawing took around 58 hours to complete in this photo-realistic drawing style. Artwork is framed with a black frame with white matt.
