I am an artist living and working from our farm at Booroobin, just outside Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
The main part of my work is executed in various mixed media including oils and inks etc. I like to discover the subject within the random marks I make on the canvas at the beginning of the process.
My paintings are nearly always imaginary and whimsical , and often feel they originate from another place, another time . They become mostly figurative , or abstract landscapes/cityscapes/seascapes. I love deep rich colours and textures, but occasionally choose to pare back on these traits, and create something softer and quieter.
I also thoroughly enjoy sketching and drawing and particularly the human form and character faces...,
Painting is my ‘happy place’ and it gives me a great deal of joy. I have been scribbling and painting for as long as I can remember!
