Artwork Description

Ocean & Earth I is the first painting in my Ocean & Earth Collection, inspired by Australia's ever-changing coastline where sea, sky and earth quietly meet.

Built through multiple layers of acrylic paint applied with palette knives and expressive mark making, the work explores movement, texture and atmosphere rather than depicting a specific place. Soft neutral tones contrast with deep earthy browns and rich Payne's Grey, creating a sense of calm while hinting at the power beneath the surface.

The painting invites the viewer to pause and discover their own landscape within the layers.

This original artwork would suit contemporary, coastal, modern and minimalist interiors, bringing warmth, texture and a peaceful focal point to a living room, bedroom or office.

Artist Bio

Australian Abstract Artist

My work explores the quiet movement found in nature—shifting tides, changing light, wind through trees and the rhythm of the Australian landscape.

Working from my light-filled studio on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, I create layered abstract landscapes using palette knives and professional acrylic paints. Inspired by the meeting of earth, sea and sky, each painting is an exploration of movement, atmosphere and the emotional connection we feel to the natural world.

Rather than depicting a specific place, my paintings invite each viewer to discover their own landscape within the layers. Through texture, light and expressive mark-making, I seek to create works that bring a sense of calm, depth and reflection into contemporary interiors.

The Ocean & Earth Collection has become an ongoing exploration of these ideas, evolving naturally through daily studio practice and intuitive experimentation.

Art has always been a constant thread throughout my life—from childhood sketching to a career starting in graphic design. Like many creatives, the demands of raising a family and running a business gradually pushed painting into the background. Following a period of burnout and personal reflection, I returned to the work that had always called me—and haven't looked back since.

Today, each painting is created with the belief that slowing down, observing nature and trusting intuition can reveal beauty that words alone cannot express.
