Deb Hayes is a local Canberra Artist who has been producing art since 2009.
Using acrylic, oil and glow in the dark mediums Deb creates an array of eclectic pieces of natural landscapes, portraits and modern art.
Deb began expressing herself in art while caring for family members with disabilities and is now producing art on a regular basis and has appeared at local market stalls and venues.
Deb has a broad range of landscape paintings and likes to paint portraits of animals. While experimenting with glow in the dark mediums, she has been able to produce works that have two pictures on the one canvas. A natural painting by day and a glow in the dark by night.
Her creative process involves working with colour matching to create glazes of underlying colours that work through the piece. Deb thoroughly enjoys the challenges of employing a variety of techniques to achieve her goal of an emotionally moving piece.
Deb enjoys using steganography within her art and enjoys the process of creating a piece to be enjoyed, and then has hidden messages or pictures revealed in glow in the dark mediums.
