Artwork Description

This is an iconically Australian plant. The banksias in flower in my local area are the inspiration for this painting. The New Holland Honeyeaters that are prevalent in my garden give added personality to the painting. I see this tree when I walk my dog in the area where I live. The flowers are a magnet for bees and birds.
It’s ready to hang and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The InsituArtRoom photo is not necessarily to scale but the measurements of the painting have been provided for the buyer to get a more accurate assessment of how Banksia Brilliance will look in it’s new home..

Artist Bio

Deb Long is now based on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula at Goolwa Beach in South Australia and takes inspiration from the beauty of the natural environment whether it be sea or land. After many years of teaching full time retirement
has now made it possible for her to continue her painting passion in her new purpose built working space.
Recurring themes in Deb’s work are the stories told by nature and the use of light and shadow to enhance what is seen using acrylics and oils as her mediums of choice. She strives to capture the mood and feeling of a place through the use of colour and brushstroke, thus giving the viewer a sense of place. Her style invites the viewer to engage with the scene and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer.
Deb enjoys travelling to different places and revisiting old favourites, continuing to take inspiration from the landscape. Birds, flora and unique landscapes continue to delight the viewer.
