Artwork Description

Acrylic on paper

Signed on the front.

Eucalypt Leaves 2 by Deb Webb is the second painting in this series. This painting came about with an intuitive layering of paint and mark making which was then covered with black in a negative painting exercise. What evolved is a colourful leaf study that is made to pop with the use of black.

This painting works well with Eucalypt Leaves 1 as pictured in the Insitu photos. These would look striking with a larger than the artwork frame to make them stand out more. They are colourful but not too extreme. Perfect for someone who wants to introduce a bit of colour without being too bright.

An upright branch of Eucalypt leaves, 6 in total. This is negative painting and so the leaves are colourful in greens, oranges, pinks and blues with some dots on them. The background is a solid matte black. A colourful Cockatoo is in the centre of the paper with her head tilted slightly to the right. She is very colourful with blues, yellows and pinks. Behind her is black lined leaves providing contrast to the colour. The galah is placed slightly to the right and has it's head turned facing the left. The colurs used are red, pink, blue and yellow. It is created in an abstract representational way. Thre are leaves drawn in black pen behind it. An abstract figure is walking towards the light with large leaves and plants on either side of him. The colours are blues, greens , yellows. There are vibrant colours inside the leaves and person.
