Origins

There is something ethnic or tribal in all of us and I felt inspired to release it in design, a series of which I am wanting to explore more. There is no need for colour to create drama and a sense of meaning.

As long as I can remember I have played with paint and colour, and various design materials, in one form or another. A brush has never been far away, but in truth, has sometimes been put aside for reason of a career in interior design. Overlapping always, between career and art, but now fully embracing my desire to move colour on a canvas. I love the purity of clean colour, not fussed over but used to find its place in the never ending thought of an idea, in beginning a new canvas or paper. Colour is so emotive and I especially love the drama of the positive and negative elements. To share the immense pleasure and appreciation of colour, in my favourite form, is truly rewarding.
