The work utilizes a reflective nostalgia that savors an autobiographical past of story books, dolls, fabric patterns and fashion. The work is an unapologetic romp through a 1960s Eurocentric Australian childhood. Women sewed their own clothing and Simplicity supplied many of the patterns. The only colour in the work is the small girls dress, reflecting the importance of fashion in rural Australia.
