Terrariums are miniature gardens and self sustaining ecosystems. I have always been fascinated by them and the life it can create within itself. In painting this work I gave myself one rule, don’t go outside the Circle stay inside. Unlike many of my other works I didn’t know what it was going to be. It created its own life with drops of paint and ink squiggles.

Artist Bio
Growing up in Sydney I have been spoilt with the natural and the urban beauty that surrounds me..
Although Visual arts have always been a passion my first career was actually as an actor and a voice-over artist and I studied Performing Arts at University.
In 2010 I moved to Hong Kong with my husband and my kids.
It was in Hong Kong that I began to draw again. I was learning from the Fine Art School of YouTube and trying to work it all out myself at home. It was fun but I needed some guidance when it came to painting with oils. So I enrolled in a casual painting class in a nearby village as a way to meet new people and slowly learnt how to paint with oils. This was the beginning of a passion. Driving home from that first lesson in oils I remember feeling elated and filled with a sense of peace. One of my daughters has a disability and therefore I can get a little housebound when medical issues arise. I found that finally I had an outlet for millions of ideas I have that swirl around my mind. When I paint the noise quietens down. It’s been transformative for me.
After 7 years in HK we came back in Sydney. I’ve attending various classes and workshops and I am now completing a Diploma of Visual Arts at Meadowbank TAFE. I love to draw and paint in Watercolours, Acrylics, inks and oils in my home studio. I’m looking forward to learning print making this year.
Although I have had some success selling via social media this is my first entry into Bluethumb. Wish me luck! ❤️
When I’m not painting or drawing or chasing my kids around I also crochet raffia bags….. Another obsession.
