Artwork Description

This original artwork consists of acrylic paint and oil pastel. 'Wild Ember' explores the vitality of the season, where trees, earth and air intertwine, using Autumn tones of warmth, texture and layers creating rhythms beneath the forest floor revealing roots and pathways like a magical hidden world. This vibrant landscape painting is quietly alive with movement as I focused on creating a surface that was rich with tactile variations using blush, orange and warm earthy tones and intricate patterns. I felt so much joy in making this artwork as it is a reflection of my love of Autumn's beautiful changing colours.
Thankyou for visiting x

This artwork consists of professional quality cotton canvas that is varnished for protection, the sides are painted in a soft beige colour and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Artist Bio

Debra's early years on a farm in the rural Hawkesbury region of New South Wales instilled in her a deep connection to the land. Surrounded by wide open spaces and the rhythms of country life, she developed a lasting appreciation for nature's quiet beauty- an influence that continues to shape her artistic practice.

Her creative journey began in childhood, sparked by an innate love of drawing and making.
This passion eventually led her to pursue formal study, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Western Sydney University. While she spent many years creating privately , it wasn't until 2023 that Debra made the decision to share her work publicly , inviting audiences into her world of colour, texture and thoughtful expression.

Working primarily with acrylics, artist markers and watercolours, Debra's progress is grounded in experimentation. She explores line and pattern, organic forms, layered surfaces and contrasting textures to craft a visual language that feels both intuitive and lyrical. Her practice is ever-evolving, marked by a sense of curiosity and discovery.

Debra's distinctive style has already captured attention, with her work 'Serendipity' featured on Channel 7's renovation series Dream Home in 2024. As she continues to develop her voice, Debra remains committed to translating her deep-rooted connection to the landscape into artworks that resonate with emotion and authenticity.
