Artwork Description

"REEF ESCAPE" an ABSTRACT artwork that I created using very fluid Acrylic paint to create the feeling of the constant movement that you feel wilst scuba diving, or snorking on the Reef, whilst you escape the world. I had fun using many Light blue, Dark blue , Aqua , Teals, Ocean greens, Turquoise Carbon black, Gold, White and a splash of pink acrylic flowing paint on a canvas. The Great Barrier Reef is like an underground Avalon, that when you explore it, you can loss time. You may see large clams, maybe some plankton or fish spawning. You never know what you will see in this under water wounder land, and the sense of calm you feel. Depending on the way the light capture to painting it will also entice you to explore it, just like the Reef.

Artist Bio

Deb Murphy is a Brisbane based contemporary abstract artist, who has been a member of a Brisbane based Art Society.

I love working in different mediums and techniques on canvas, painting in an intuitive contemporary abstract style, with a balanced and rhythmic flow.
When I am painting and in the moment, I run on raw instinctive energy, to convey my true passion for colour and life. I am constantly drawing on influences from my past world travels and experiences. My art studio is like a creative vortex, where the only boundaries are the edges of the canvas.,
