Bird song at dawn

Bird Song at Dawn is inspired by that golden, honey-light just before the sun comes up — when everything feels quiet and edges are soft. Most mornings, I hear a bird singing in the garden, her song gentle and beautiful. I never see her, though — she's always just out of sight, like a secret. This work is my way of holding onto that fleeting moment.

I was born in a small mining town in Transylvania, Romania, where the rugged landscapes and rich cultural heritage served as my early inspiration. In 1990, I embarked on a transformative journey, relocating to the vibrant city of Sydney, Australia, which I now proudly call home. Here, I have passionately pursued my artistic calling and honed my skills as a full-time painter.
My commitment to the craft led me to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the prestigious National Art School in Sydney, specializing in painting. This educational journey has allowed me to blend my Romanian roots with the diverse artistic influences of Australia, resulting in a unique and captivating body of work.
I am an associated artist with Traffic Jam Galleries, Neutral Bay NSW, Milk Factory Gallery, Bowral NSW and Red Hill Gallery Brisbane, QLD.
