Artwork Description

The Flower Hunter follows a kind of presence moving through the work. Not human, more like a bird or insect, drawn toward something it can’t quite land on. Forms start to gather into flower, then slip away again. Lines double back, painted and drawn marks fall slightly out of sync. It sits in that in-between moment where something is being searched for, but never fully found.

I was born in a small mining town in Transylvania, Romania, where the rugged landscapes and rich cultural heritage served as my early inspiration. In 1990, I embarked on a transformative journey, relocating to the vibrant city of Sydney, Australia, which I now proudly call home. Here, I have passionately pursued my artistic calling and honed my skills as a full-time painter.
My commitment to the craft led me to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the prestigious National Art School in Sydney, specializing in painting. This educational journey has allowed me to blend my Romanian roots with the diverse artistic influences of Australia, resulting in a unique and captivating body of work.
