Where Wonder Lingers

This painting draws on memories of my grandparents’ garden, where the familiar world of childhood slips easily into imagination. Wildflowers, fruit trees and hidden forms become a landscape suspended between what was remembered and what might have been imagined.
Small traces of magic seem to appear and disappear within the garden - glimpses that cannot quite be held. The work reflects on the nature of childhood memory: vivid yet unreliable, continually reshaped by distance and time.
The garden becomes a threshold between wonder and loss, presence and disappearance. It is a place where something is always about to emerge or vanish, holding that fragile moment when imagination makes the ordinary feel extraordinary.

I was born in a small mining town in Transylvania, Romania, where the rugged landscapes and rich cultural heritage served as my early inspiration. In 1990, I embarked on a transformative journey, relocating to the vibrant city of Sydney, Australia, which I now proudly call home. Here, I have passionately pursued my artistic calling and honed my skills as a full-time painter.
My commitment to the craft led me to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the prestigious National Art School in Sydney, specializing in painting. This educational journey has allowed me to blend my Romanian roots with the diverse artistic influences of Australia, resulting in a unique and captivating body of work.
