Artwork Description

During one single day we have lots of thoughts-some lighthearted and others deep and meaningful.
This work is about colour in all its beauty but also about how thoughts and feelings and how they crowd together to make sense of our environment.
I loved the richness of the colours I chose ,and how they come together.-sometimes blending and at other times clashing--like our thoughts.

Artist Bio

I am an abstract intuitive artist. Many years ago I studied at the Brisbane institute of Art and my pleasure in painting has remained. I have my own purpose built studio and gallery and paint professionally every day.
My work has attracted popular attention and is instantly recognisable .This is due to my use of vivid colours and dynamic shapes and marks. I feel strongly that colours influence the soul and bright colours enhance positivity. Bright paints flow onto my canvas intuitively as I layer shapes and textures to attempt to create a sense of movement and vitality.
I paint what I feel rather than what I see and often create several layers of colours and marks before the final work emerges. Recently an interest in movement has developed into falling and floating shapes and complex colour fields with varied marks and objects that appear to move. My interest in Psychology is evident in the way the shapes appear to be moving around the canvas almost as if they are human.
I use only quality acrylics and inks to enhance depth and colour and finish the work with several coats of gloss varnish to protect.
My original art is represented in many private Australian collections and as far afield as USA, Britain, Italy and Iceland. I have participated in several individual and joint exhibitions and am represented in several Brisbane galleries. I have also entered and sold work in many art shows, including Rotary, Chuchie and Artburst.
My desire is to create work that is full of vibrant colour, to create a sense of joy and perhaps to stir the imagination a little as well.
