Denise Piva is from the Bayside area‚ Brisbane. Her paintings have been exhibited in QLD‚ NSW‚ SA and Vic.
The paintings represented here are from the series Sonnets, Fragment and One Tree. Sonnets explores the concepts of beauty‚ decay and time ever present in Shakespeare's Sonnets, while Fragment is best described as painted vignettes of Italy, France and England - the colour of a wall‚ the pattern of a floor‚ the expression of an angel... One Tree is about mindfulness and acknowledges the presence and beauty of everyday things such as trees. By focusing on one tree and its various aspects, the work encourages the viewer to look more closely and thoughtfully at the objects that surround us.
Making and enjoying art is a necessity for the soul.
