Artwork Description

The village of Sofala stands like an historical time capsule in central New South Wales. It was established in 1851 when gold mining attracted prospectors to the region. The variety of architectural styles in the town’s structures built since then, is a feast for any artist’s creative eyes.

Artist Bio

My creative skill was evident from a very early age but I received no formal training until I was in my teenage years. Drawing and painting have always been my primary recreational activities. During my working life, I have been able to use this talent to accomplish an enjoyable career. I have a degree in Landscape Architecture from the Qld University of Technology.
I work in both Watercolour and Oils. Each medium presents a unique range of challenges on the way to achieving the desired outcome. My favourite subject is landscape including all manner of natural and built form. Drawing on the subject’s response to light and atmospheric conditions, I attempt to capture a sense of place and time.
