My Love for art began as far back as i can remember. I had an art teacher in Primary who encouraged us in a way that kept the spark alive and had inspirational teachers throughout my school life. Always a Doodler and always wanted to sketch anything that took my fancy.
I had my first work shown in Public at 12 years of age with an abstract piece.
Entering work and an apprenticeship I shelved my art for a while and dabbled in it over the years. I studied with an Artist called John Kelly who help me with Brush technique , I later meet a Fellow Artist ,Clayton Mansfield who I became friends with with our mutual love for Surrealism.
We both fascinated with Dali and Escher. The later I took special interest in with the Dutchman's Ability to twist reality and trick the eye. Salvador Intrigued me from a young age with my first ever viewing of a Print from his "Swans Reflecting Elephants" Totally Floored me. I was hooked.
I Studied From Books And Mixing with other Artists to enable me to take the next step up.
Both my Mum and Dad were Keen Photographers who cut their own film and equipped with their own Dark room. Mum was a keen on Monochrome work winning a number of awards in her time. It was Mums love of monochrome that influenced me to do some subjects on Canvas.
I Have a love of flora and fauna so do paint a number of these. Particularly the Big Cats, to which I have had a few commissions along with Landscapes.
So Basically my main work is flora and fauna but love my Monochrome to the point i want to do more when i'm able, adding subtle Surrealism into the work.
