Our front garden has a magnificient Magnolia tree, and each year, very early spring it is covered in the most spectacular flowers. Working from reference i tried to knock out some quick studies, i didn't want to labour it or get caught up in precise botanical representations. I was most interested in the colour and form of these large petals, the first green leaves starting to sprout. I did them as a pair and feel they work nicely together. The pictures aren't large but come framed with a simple neutral pinewood frame. I hope they bring that joy to someones home all year round....beats plastic flowers i reckon.
