I was housesitting in an isolated part of Southern England. Surrounded by other people's things, and yet so alone. It's times like these you are really forced to really look within.
Desiree Crossing is a portrait artist based in Perth, Western Australia. She has been a finalist in the International ARC Salon, Beautiful Bizarre Prize, Portia Geach Memorial Award, Black Swan Prize for Portraiture and winner of the Baldock Family People’s Choice Award at the Lester Prize 2021, among others. She works primarily in oil paints and is renowned for capturing moments of quiet intimacy.
