Diana Neggo was born with an explorer’s heart, always seeking new adventures and discoveries. Growing up in Perth, Western Australia, she began her artistic journey with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Victoria, followed by a Diploma of Education.
During a two-year stay in Japan, Diana immersed herself in Sumi-e, or Japanese Brush Painting. This art form’s emphasis on fine brush strokes and meticulous detail has deeply influenced her work.
Her years spent sailing around Australia and Southeast Asia have profoundly shaped her love for the ocean. Diana captures its ever-changing moods in her seascapes, drawing inspiration from her time on the water. She now lives on five acres in Ferguson Valley, where she creates art in a studio overlooking a tranquil dam.
Her travels have continually enriched her artistic vision. In Portugal, Diana participated in a workshop that focused on drawing found objects in nature, which introduced her to a more relaxed perspective. India’s vibrant colours and deep spirituality offered another transformative shift, sparking fresh ideas in her work.
Recently, Diana has been exploring abstract painting, embracing the freedom and fluidity it offers. She navigates the space between abstract and realistic, aiming to capture the essence of a scene while allowing viewers to engage with their own interpretations and stories.
Through her ongoing exploration, Diana invites others to join her on a journey where each artwork tells its own story and every brushstroke reveals something new.
