Diane has been painting and drawing since the age of five. Coming from a creative family and growing up on the land, Diane yearned for adventure beyond the paddocks and shearing sheds. Her art work didn't come to light though until during her work as a psychologist addressing mental health, trauma, and malnutrition in war torn Iraq (2017-2021). Her water colour paintings of the women and children from Mosul, Iraq, were used by Doctors Without Borders for fund raising in New York City, and in the Tokyo Marathon, (2018 -2019). Several articles online about Diane's work and art can be accessed from MSF, Rudaw Media, and El Pais Madrid.
Diane's current work is a mix of heavy impasto style and cheeky acrylic work which can be viewed in person at Aspire Gallery, Paddington, Brisbane. Diane has been represented in Europe by Van Gogh Art Gallery, Madrid, and has exhibited and sold work at the 54th and 55th annual BGS Art Show Brisbane and Aspire Gallery in Paddington.
When Diane isn't painting, she is travelling and doing her humanitarian work. Her book "Mosul Dreaming: An Australian Psychologist in Iraq", 2023 is now available on Amazon by Austin Macauley Publishers UK, Dymocks Chermside, and more.
Diane warmly welcomes commissions, and is eager to transform your ideas into a reality you will cherish.
