Artwork Description

Firstly, I apologize for the lack of clarity in my photos, I just was NOT able to get a nice clean white background. This really is a beautiful piece and I will replace the photos as soon as I get get some good ones sorted out.
This lovely Pink rose is another one from my garden, it has nice structure that holds up beautifully in a vase and was just a pleasure to paint. Of coarse it helps if you absolutely adore roses as well.(smile)
It would look good in any room and make a wonderful gift.

1. This painting will come mounted on a matt board, ready to go into the frame of your choice, I believe the matt will give this piece more impact when framed.
2. All my Art comes with its own signed and numbered ‘Authentication Certificate’, and a ‘How to Care for your Artwork’ sheet. I post unframed to avoid any risk of glass breakage that would likely occur if they were framed. This way you get to select the perfect frame for your decor.
3. I take all care with packing your chosen artwork to ensure its safe delivery. Posting unframed to avoid any risk of glass breakage that would likely occur if it were framed.
This is because watercolour really does need to be framed under glass to protect it and give it longevity. Doing it this way you get to select the perfect frame for your decor.
Thanks for looking at my art and choosing to make one a statement piece in your home or office. I really appreciate it, Cheers Dianne.

Artist Bio

I have been painting now for over 20 years and still get very excited when I see a piece coming to life before my eyes. It's lovely seeing my work come to an end with a sense of accomplishment. Painting looks easy but there is a LOT of planning goes into each work before you even pick up a brush.

It involves a lot of hard work, deciding on subject, selecting reference material. (I always take & use my own photos) drawing up , selecting which medium to use, transfer drawings to watercolour paper or canvas. (I prefer to do my drawing up on paper first so that any alterations don't have to be rubbed out on watercolour paper especially, as this ruins the papers surface) Colour mixing can take time and is something that I enjoy doing, I believe it gives you many more colours to use other than just straight out of a tube. Then there is technique, style, and ‘perspective’, now that is everywhere, not just landscapes, but in flowers, animals, and indeed everything. Size and proportion do matter! One is continually learning with art.

Initially self-taught, using Watercolour, I eventually wanted to learn more skills. So, Mr John Ford F.A.S.M.A, noted Marine Artist, became my mentor and I studied under his tutelage for some years. His encouragement, support and advice, has given me the confidence and knowledge, to produce paintings that I am delighted to say I am very happy with today.

I Specialize in Australian Native Birds and Animals, as well as flowers, and am very passionate about my art, putting all my effort into getting it just right, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do creating it. We all need a break from the norm’ from time to time, that’s when I do a bit of landscape or abstract, it refreshes ones outlook.

I now work in both watercolour and acrylic, which I took up in 2016.
There have been many wonderful commissions along the way, with my work now residing in South Australia where I live, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia the U.K, America and Armenia.

Cheers Dianne
