Dianne paints the story of Kungka Kutjarra (Two Sisters), which is an epic Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) stretching from Port Augusta in
South Australia to Karlu Karlu in the Northern Territory. The sisters travelled throughout the desert landscape in ancestral
τmes, forming features in the landscape as they went. Dianne paints a part in this story when the sisters travel close by to
Kaltukatjara (Docker River), forming the mountains which rise up around the river.
Dianne's mother, Bonnie Connelly, is a celebrated painter and holder of this story. Dianne has learnt to paint alongside her
mother and sister, Marlene Connelly, but represents this tjukurrpa in her own way. She favours joyful colours and layered. composition, incorporating both brushwork and punu (stick) painting technique.
