Newcastle Ocean Baths

I love the art deco design of the baths and wanted to capture the simplicity of this type of design, alongside the colour of the water and the bright sunshine reflecting off the cement. This painting will bring a piece of the coast into your home.

The materials used are acrylic on canvas. The canvas is a deep edge (3.5 cm wide) so it doesn't require a frame.

I am a Newcastle based artist, inspired by my surrounds of the suburban and coastal landscape. My paintings show a silent and tranquil scene, generally void of people. I like to depict the beauty of the natural environment which also portrays a human footprint, usually in the form of a structure.

I have held a solo exhibition at Nanshe Gallery and was part of a group exhibition at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley. I was included in the list of finalists for the We Get By emerging artists showcase at Cooks Hill Gallery.
