Heart Shaped Ivy With Bromeliad

Painted whilst sitting in the corner of my dining room, this piece was created to celebrate the beautiful bromeliad I have growing in a large jar full of water. It sits on a cabinet that separates the dining room from the kitchen. A visual snippet of my domestic bliss.

This piece has been drawn using artist quality watercolour pencils on Archers 300gsm hot press paper.
The drawing has been painted over with water. This process has been repeated several times to achieve the deeper, vibrant colours.

Dominika is an artist living in the Yarra Valley. Drawing inspiration from her garden and the beautiful surrounds, she has a particular passion for representing house plants, flowers and treasures from her various collections. 'I find inspiration everywhere and am influenced by nature, my garden, and the changing seasons. I find there is beauty in every stage of the life cycle, whether it be the closed bud of a flower, a deteriorated sea shell or an autumn leaf. My main challenge being that time is limited and of all my ideas, only some will find their way to paper! My art practice is my meditation, my connection to the earth, to my family, and at times it is all encompassing in the most beautiful of ways'.
