I am a born and bred Perth girl who originally started out in the dramatic arts as a graduate of WAAPA. I have since traded in treading the boards for paintbrush and pencil. The limelight still beckons, however, and as a self-taught artist, aren't we all, I find myself continually exploring the many and varied media I love. Acrylic, pastels, gouache, graphite and coloured pencils pushed, pulled and plastered on canvas or paper is the mixed-media frenzy I adore creating. I am a member of The Australian Pastel society and the West Australian pastel society. You will also find me at the North Coast art society.Inspiration, for me, can pop up at any time and in any place. Ask any of the kids I teach as a Special needs assistant. I am always sketching them or making little drawings for them to colour. They, in turn, gift me with a different way of looking at the world. I am not confined to one subject area, preferring to vary my projects and media. One day dogs and cats the next nudes and still life. The thread that holds it all together is colour, colour and texture. Commission me for a portrait of your furry friend through Bluethumb.
