Songs of Sand

I've been working with a new process that expresses the beautiful weathering in the Australian landscape. Sometimes the artworks feel like the coast, sometimes the desert, but rock always gives way to ethereal, soft sands blown by the wind.
Painted neatly white on the sides.
Finished with two coats of varnish for protection.
Signed on the front with a Certificate of Authenticity
Packaged in recycled/recyclable materials when possible
I do my best to photograph my artwork accurately, but due to differences in monitors and devices, colour and contrast may vary slightly.

Doodie's artwork is a response to landscape in all its beautiful forms across the country, from green forests to red desert and the bush in between. She paints from memory and photos of her extensive travels.
Having grown up in WA, the red dirt of the Kimberleys and the Pilbara are ever present visual references, along with the plains of the wheat belt, the soaring jarrah forests of the south and the hectares of untouched bush around her home.
Nature has been a place of solace and connection since she was a child and she paints what she feels in its presence, often drawn to the rhythm of its forms.
Doodie loves to use found tools and a variety of colour palettes and styles so that each artwork reflects an authentic vision of a personal experience.
