Artwork Description

This watercolour was born from a record heatwave in Adelaide, where a lotus defied 45°C skies. It bloomed crimson at dawn, scorched by noon, yet reopened the next day — a performance of pure resilience. It became the undeniable centre of its world the moment it bloomed. That why I choice that placed it in the exact centre of the composition, against all expectations, resolved into profound balance. Here, its entire cycle is held in one view: a tight bud, the radiant flower in its prime, and a steadfast seed head, with a tiger dragonfly gracing a stem.
