Artwork Description

Golden Beetle is a captivating contemporary watercolour study that bridges the meticulous precision of scientific illustration with the bold philosophy of avant-garde modernism. In nature, the Donckier's Stag Beetle's iridescent exoskeleton morphs colour dynamically with every subtle shift of the angle and light source. The artist captures this cinematic journey of light and compresses it into a profound visual experiment in light, time, and chromatic perception.
