Doug Talbot is an Australian born artist who has always had a lifelong passion for art, with a pencil in hand from an early age. Growing up in Western Sydney, NSW, this natural interest and innate ability laid the foundation for Talbot’s artistic journey. After completing a Diploma in Fine Arts, he embarked on a fulfilling career in law enforcement, where art took a back seat but remained a constant source of inspiration.
Following Talbot's departure from the Police Force and now based on the vibrant Gold Coast, a rediscovered passion for the arts has taken centre stage. Specialising in portraiture, he is driven by a deep-seated desire to capture the essence and character of each subject. Using acrylics, inks, and textured mediums, Talbot meticulously crafts each portrait, focusing on fine details and textures to reveal the depth of human emotion and identity. Additionally, he explores life drawing with pencils, and the creation of movie style props, further enriching his artistic exploration.
